Equity markets in Europe and the US are down as traders are fearful the Federal Reserve will move to a more hawkish stance. Fears about new sanctions being levied on Russia are weighing on the mood too.
The US dollar index hit its highest mark since May 2020, but it has since turned lower. The minutes from last month’s Fed meeting will be posted this evening.
WTI and Brent crude are up on the session due to supply worries on account of speculation about new sanctions against Russia.
Gold is in the red due to the rally seen in the US dollar earlier, gold is off the session lows as the dollar has pulled back.
