Gold touches new highs during today's trading

7 Aug 2020 02:46 PM

Gold prices continued to rise in the last sessions of the week, and touch new highs on Friday morning at $2075.32 an ounce, before reducing some of those gains to trade at the present time around $2060 an ounce, as the recent gains in the US dollar caused pressure on the performance of the yellow metal.

This comes at a time when the markets are awaiting the US jobs data during hours, as most expectations indicate that the sector will add 1.6 million jobs compared to the previous reading of 4.8 million jobs, with the increase in the number of injuries and the continued closure of several states, which may impede the rate of adding new jobs.
