The British Chambers of Commerce has said that many UK companies not ready for the next phase of Brexit, and the government still needs to do more efforts to help them.

In a survey, the BCC found only half of British companies had taken the steps recommended by the government to prepare for the UK’s withdrawal from the single market at the end of the year. 38% of companies completed the Brexit risk assessment this year, compared to 57% in 2019.

A lack of preparation could seriously affect customs throughput and lead to significant disruptions for the UK’s customers and suppliers.
