The Wall Street Journal surveyed economists in December and their views were as follows:
- 2 rate hikes expected in 2019.
- Expects long-term interest rates to stabilize between 2.75% -3%.
- Estimates of GDP growth in the United States increased by 2.5% during the last quarter of 2017.
- Expects the economy to grow by 2.6% in 2018.
- Expects unemployment to reach 3.9% by the end of 2018.
