Britain's wage rate has so far not risen faster than inflation. Wages, including bonuses, rose by 2.8 percent in the three months to February, below expectations of a 3 percent rise, while inflation is around 2.9 percent.
Unemployment fell to 4.2 percent, the lowest level since 1975. The number of jobless claims fell to 11.6K from 15.1K in the three months to February.
