China's factories inflation slowed in March for the fifth consecutive month, while the consumer price index fell from a four-year high.
The producer price index rose by 3.1% on yearly basis, compared to expectations of a 3.3% rise, while February's reading rose by 3.7%. The consumer price index rose by 2.1% against expectations of a rise of 2.6%, after rising in February by 2.9%.
With rising trade tensions that could affect global economic growth, domestic consumer prices are expected to rise this year, and tariffs added to US imports could boost inflation if implemented.
