German import prices fell by 0.6% in February, the first decline since October 2016. This contrasts with the January reading, which rose by 0.7%.
Imports prices also fell on a monthly basis by 0.6% in February, while the January reading rose by 0.5%. Excluding prices of crude oil and mineral products, import prices fell by 1% over the same period last year.
Export data showed a 0.5% YoY rise in February after rising by 0.7% in January and stabilized on a monthly basis at 0.3%.
