Greek Prime Minister pledges economic aid to Greeks

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is expected to announce some economic subsidies to Greek people after years of austerity measures during the years of the financial crisis. The leftist leader should balance between the angry public and the markets.

Greece emerged from the third bailout plan last month after eight years of strict control by foreign lenders (its euro zone partners and the International Monetary Fund).

Tsipras, who took power in January 2015 on promises to end austerity, but later forced to sign a new bailout, he hopes boosting his chances in poll ratings ahead of the general elections scheduled for 2019.
