Italian economy to grow less than the government's expectations in 2019

The National Employers' Lobby Confindustria expects that Italian economy to grow less than previously expected and at a slower pace than expected through the coalition government next year.

GDP growth for the year 2019 was estimated at 0.9% compared to the previous forecast of 1.1%.

Also, GDP growth forecasts for 2018 were cut to 1.1% from 1.3% estimated in June. The industrial group said the downward adjustment to growth was linked to changes in U.S. trade policy and turbulence in emerging economies such as Turkey and Argentina, as well as ending the ECB's quantitative easing program and rising Italian bond yields.
