Italian Economy Minister Giovanni Tria has no plans to resign due to a budget dispute with the ruling parties, a spokeswoman for the Italian Economy Ministry said today. She denies the minister's desire to resign and that he is working to achieve the objectives of the budget before the meeting of the Council of ministers today.

The 5-star movement threatened on Tuesday not to vote on the budget unless the income includes citizens and a minimum retirement age along with other policies. Today, the government will present its economic and financial objectives that support the budget, while actual actions must be approved by the government by October 20.

Italy's public debt is around 131 percent of GDP, the highest in the euro zone after Greece. Italy was the slowest economy in the euro area since the monetary union began nearly two decades ago.
