Investors began filing lawsuits against the Coincheck cryptocurrencies exchange on Thursday, seeking to force them to withdraw assets of $ 183,000 frozen following the exposure of the Tokyo-based exchange for a $ 530 million theft of digital money.

Seven investors filed a suit at the Tokyo District Court, and they also requested that the Coincheck pay 5% annual interest on the value of the digital money from notification of the claim until the withdrawals are resumed.

The Coincheck froze the Japanese yen and digital money after the heist on Jan. 26, before announcing Tuesday that yen withdrawals would be made unleashing a single-day outflow of $ 373 million. It said it would curbs on cryptocurrencies withdrawal until it could guarantee a secure resumption of its operations.
