Trump says he can do more about the trade war with China

U.S. President Donald Trump warned today that there is much he can do that would hurt China's economy further, without showing any sign of retreating from the escalating trade war with China.

The U.S. administration imposed tariffs on Chinese imports worth 200 billion dollars last month, then threatened by imposing more tariffs if China responded to them, and then China responded by charging about 60 billion U.S. dollars on imports from the United States.

Trump said in an interview with Fox News: These tariffs have had a significant impact, their economy has fallen too much and I have more work to do if i want to do so. However, Trump said the Chinese want to negotiate but he thinks they are unprepared and blames former U.S. presidents for allowing China doing unfair trade practices.

The growing trade war prompted the International Monetary Fund on Tuesday to cut its outlook for global economic growth for 2018 and 2019.
