UK Finance Minister Philippe Hammond has continued his attempts to reassure the markets, saying he is confident the UK will get a good deal for Brexit. His most prominent statements came as follows:
- The best way to reduce debt is by promoting growth rates
- It is difficult to try to use the budget surplus every year to reduce debt as a percentage of GDP
- Not worried about the recent budget will be inflationary
- If we do not reach agreement on Brexit, the economy will re establish itself.
